Painted Gömböc models debute at the Art Hall
The ten Gömböc models are exhibited for the first time to the public in the Art Hall which were decorated by the winner of the tender invited in the spring. At the Night of the Museums visitors can observe the Gömböc models on a special exhibition, two days later these will be moved to the Palace of Arts.
The exhibition was opened by Zsolt Petrányi, director of the Art Hall and László Gőz who came up with the idea of the decorating tender. Zsolt Petrányi – as a member of the jury – said that this rethinked art form of the Gömböc is totally suitable to present the culture of our nation and our traditions of folk art. László Gőz said that this tender – just like other cultural programs connected to the World Expo - focused on young artist, in this case on university and college students.
The crowd of visitors were open and curious manifestly towards the colourful Gömböc models, the smallers loved to move and push the unusual, but fascinating huge models.
